Adelaide Crows announce who’s not captain

The Adelaide Football Club today announced neither Rory Sloane and Patrick Dangerfield will be captain this season.

“We also announced who is captain too, by the way,” said Adelaide CEO Andrew Fagan.

“Does anyone want to know who it is? No? Just questions about Rory and Patrick leaving?

“You people disgust me.”

New senior coach Phil Walsh said not appointing either Sloane and Dangerfield captain would help ensure an avalanche of speculation about them leaving throughout the year.

“I can’t begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to this distraction all year,” said Mr Walsh.

“I encourage fans, the media and anonymous sources to get creative with their speculation.

“I’ll kick it off, Rory Sloane will play in La Liga next year.”

According to reports, a deal has already been done for Dangerfield to go to Richmond, Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn.

Dangerfield is also expected to sign deals with Melbourne, North Melbourne and the Renegades in the next week.

“My cousin knows a guy who trains at the same gym as Patrick Dangerfield’s third cousin, twice removed,” said mad Richmond support Bodie Mason.

“He says Dangers is definitely coming to us. Possibly. Or Collingwood.”

New captain Tex Walker said he was sad Dangerfield and Sloane were leaving.

“I read it on several footy forums. Seemed legit.”
